Eating Out 2 -- Sloppy Seconds Serves Up Serious Laughs

Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds, serves up serious laughs with a big side of skewered ex-gays and sexual politics for dessert.
Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds

The first thing that I wanted to mention about Eating Out 2 is that the DVD is being distributed under two names; "Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds" and "Eating Out 2: Different Rocks".

I mention this because when I went to rent this movie out I found out that the DVD cover was going under the name of "Different Rocks" whilst the display cover was going under the name of "Sloppy Seconds". That's a bit confusing and I'm not sure why this has been done, but both titles are actually appropriate titles for the movie.

Eating Out 2 is a sequel to the award winning 2004 film, Eating Out, which I've never seen by the way, however, the sequel actually stands up to being highly enjoyable without knowing anything about the first movie or in other words without having seen the first movie.

Kyle (Jim Verraros) an Out but not a total social butterfly, with the help of Gwen (Emily Brooke Hands) and Tiffani (Rebekah Kochan) pretends to be an ex-gay in order to land the super stud Troy (Marco Dapper), a nude art model who's deeply confused about his sexuality.

Kyle's ex-boyfriend Marc (Brett Chukerman) gets jealous and is also horrified at the plan, so he makes his own plans… Of course the girls have their own personal plans too…

Throw in Mink Stole into the mix as Kyle's mom (she was really good and had some great scenes), add some sexy guys (many of whom were repressed) a confused Dyke and the result was a very humorous comedy about sexual identity and ex-gays.

Eating Out 2 wasn't what I'd classify as a "yuk fest" but it did have me both laughing out loud and laughing nervously at times. In fact, I liked it so much; I had to watch it twice in two days.

One last thing – Be sure to watch the credits or you'll miss some great mini scenes.
