On this day in history, (August 25, 1984) famed and scandalous American writer Truman Capote died; he was 59.
Although Capote had enjoyed success as a writer during the 40's and 50's including the short novel, Breakfast at Tiffany's (1958) it was his 1965 "non-fiction novel" In Cold Blood that would bring him his most literary fame and notoriety (I'm not including his social life here). It was much talked and debated about. In 1966 the CBC managed to score an interview with him. Here it is, in bite size video clips from the CBC archives:
